PROTOTYPE
A working implementation or executable slice used to explore a system. It is not automatically production-ready, complete, or generally available.
RESEARCH QUESTION
A question formulated for investigation. No result is claimed.
SPECULATIVE IDEA
An untested proposal, analogy, or design direction. It is published to make the idea legible, not to present it as accomplished work.
HISTORICAL WORK
Work retained for chronology, provenance, or lessons learned. It may be inactive, superseded, or no longer represent the current direction.
EVIDENCE LEVELS
No public evidence
No artifact or result is currently published.
Notes
The public record contains reasoning or design notes, but no executable result.
Artifact available
Code, data, logs, or another inspectable artifact is attached.
Reproducible run
A documented rerun path and the evidence needed to check the bounded result are available.

EVIDENCE BOUNDARY
Measurements apply to the hardware, data, model, configuration, seed, comparison, and failure criteria stated on the research record. A local smoke test is not production evidence. A self-consistent artifact is not independent reproduction. A reference experiment is not customer performance.
Interpretations are labeled separately from observations. Analogies from neuroscience, music, biology, economics, or physics are hypothesis generators unless a record supplies evidence for a stronger connection.
